Looking for vids and vidders....

I'm sure you've all already heard the exciting news that the next VídUKon goes down in May 2013!!

I am playing with the idea of putting together a vid show that showcases European vidding. At the last VidUKon there was a UK themed vid show, but this time I'd like to focus on non-british vidders, source and non-english songs. At this point the concept is still pretty vague, so I thought I'd trawl the internets a bit to see what's already out there. 

So, if you know any other French, German, Italian, Swedish, Russian etc vidders out there that are not on my flist, let me know (I'm guessing there are some vidders who prefer to blog/interact in their own language and I want to make sure I throw the net as wide as possible. I'm also looking for recs for any vids using non-english European source or songs (not neccessarily the vidders native language, though I assume that's the most likely scenario...) Self-recs are defenitely encouraged!

If you know of any non-english vidding coms please feel free to repost this entry with a link to this post, that would be very helpful.

Oh, thank you so much, that first link is amazing, just the thing I am looking for! Luckily I have a couple of people of my flist who speak Russian and can help with communication.

Premiers would be even better, but at this point it is too early to commission any vids since the programming has not even yet been confirmed. At the moment I am predominantly looking for European vidders, source & music, but my plan is still pretty vague at this point. What is the source you're planning on vidding?

Sorry for taking such a ridiculously long time to reply, an extended holiday and LJ problems (plus a bit of uselessness on my part) got in the way!

I was planning on vidding Le pacte des loups (Brotherhood of the Wolf). I'm not European, but I can always send it along to you once it's done if you'd like to check it out.

Oh, that would be amazing. You don't have to hit all three critieria (e.g. European vidder/source/song), the point of the vid show is to showcast sources that are less well known, vidders that either work in isolation or have a network that is unconnected to the VVC scene and to demonstrate that a non-English song can make a good vid song. Obviously a hat trick (all three) criteria in one song would be great, but most probably will only hit one or two .....

I've been meaning to watch that movie for such a long time, but somehow I never get round to it.

Excellent :) Festivids has inspired me - so many awesome vids!

Just to make sure, would you need it by end of March or is that too late?

Also: It is a cool film; well worth watching.
