Can you believe it, it's been 2 years since the last Eurovision Show. Last year I had to default due to real life being more bitchy than normal and this year I only just about got it done in time, with a lot of friendly reminders, prompts and pokes from

But at least I managed to post the vid list in a timely manner, last time I never got round to it, and the time before it took me over 9 months. Improvement, right? So here is this year's Eurovsion show listing showcasing European vidders & source and celebrating the diversity of the European vidding community across all platforms.
As always a bit shoutout to all the vidders who have contributed by letting me show their vids and particularly those who have gone the extra mile and made a vidder postcard as well, which is always very much appreciated and makes the show that extra-special. Thank you all so much! One the perks of curating this show is getting to know such a diverse bunch of people from all over Europe (and the world) from all walks of life and fannish corners of the internet.
This year we had 12 vids but unfortunately no premieres as I started rather late and did not have enough time to do all the outreach that is needed to organise those. Also no vid from me, for the the first time since 2015, for the same reason. The show is a mix of long-term contributers and new vidders that I found on my travels on the internets. I am posting links here and also made a youtube playlist for convenience. If you enjoy any of the vids, please leave feedback at that persons journal or comment on youtube. As always, I am also including imbd links for lesser known shows and movies in case one of the vids makes you curious and you want to check out the source.
For those of you who want to watch the whole show I've put together a youtube playlist with all vids apart from condnsdmlk's vid which streams on vimeo. An embedded version is at the end of this post.
Also, i have link gremlins and seem to be unable to post these lists without some bad/wrong links sneaking it, please don't be offended if the link for your vid leads to Chris Platt French braiding an interns hair while being interviewed, just let me know and I'll fix it.

Music: People Get Ready by The Frames (Ireland)
And we have all the love in the world....this was just the perfect opening vid. It is full of friendship, found family and love, but also so much loss and sacrifice. Beautifully edited with the perfect song, great use of lyrics and an emotional roller-coaster you never notice that this vid is over 5 minutes long. And it will have sniffle by the end.
Bonfire Heart by casdroid (US)
Source: Skam (Norway)
Music: Bonfire Heart by James Blunt (UK)
Celebrating the limitless power and infinite possibilities of love over the course of the series whether siblings, friends or significant others this is perfect follow-on vid. It's all uplifting, joyous and positive.
I need my girl by Shainira (Spain)
Source: Outlander (UK)
Music: I Need My Girl by The National (US)
This is a vid filled with such yearning as the two characters have never met. I love the editing and how the vidder keeps father and daughter connected through glances, matching locations and motions, despite being seperated by centuries. And Shainiry still manages to make it end on a positive note, with resolution and acceptance, circling back to 'tell me about her', connecting beginning to end.
Stranger by UFets (Kazakhstan)

Music: People Are Strange by The Doors (US)
The concept is so simple but the effect is mesmerizing. I can't even imagine how long it took to find all these perfectly centred head shots of people looking stright into the camera, and to find characters that are appropriate for the context! This is one of those vids with a perfect song choice which turns all these clips where deceptively 'nothing happens' into an exploration of disconect, otherness and isolation. This vid also starts the transition into the portion of the show with darker and more complex themes.

Source: Bitva za Sevastopol - Battle for Sebastopol (Ukraine)
Music: I might be wrong by Radiohead (UK)
This is an fascinating gender-swap of the popular male dominated trope of 'shell-shocked war veteran' based on a true story. Both beautiful and heart wrenching.
North Star by MissNothingS (Russia)
Source: Daredevil (US)
Music: Prelude in C Sharp Minor by Sergei Rachmaninoff (Russia)
The vidder creates an intense atmosphere despite using slow cuts but it all comes together perfectly helped by an inspired music choice and some clever audio editing. A compelling character study that uses the emotional cues of the classical piece instead of lyrics.
Take Me Up by voordeel (? Russia)
Source: Bodyguard (UK)
Music: 2100 by Run the Jewels (US)
This is the perfect vid summary of why I enjoyed this show, and one of the few that focuses on the main character rather than a romantic pairing. All this is top off with fast edits and creative transitions matching the well chosen track.
Beautiful Crime by brionyx509 (UK)
Source: Dark (Germany)
Music: Beautiful Crime by Tamer(US)
The vidder is making great use of symbols, repetition and visual matching to create a beautiful and accessible vid that focuses on the underlying space-time continuum mystery and pervasive atmosphere of dread, confusion and suspense.
Washed Out by MoonCalledA(Hungary)
Source: Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo (South Korea)
Music: New Ways by Daughter (UK)
This vid digs out the dramatic core of this K-drama with detail focused clips and close-ups. And leads us into the more romantic and fun final section of the show.
The Beauty Insideby GruSha (Ukraine)
Source: The Beauty Inside (US)
Music: Mercury by Sleeping At Last(US)
Deceptively simple narrative vid about looking beyond appearances to find your soul mate.
Gay or Europeanby aphelia (Netherlands)
Source:Skam (Norway)
Music: There, Right There by the Legally Blonde cast (US)
The decidedly 90ies song sterotyping gays is elevated by pairing it with a source that has given us one of the most authentic and real depictions of gay teens and the vidder finds the perfect lyric matches to turn this into funny tour de force. Because Isaak is gay AND European!!!!
Warning: Might Lead to Mixed Dancingby

This Jewish incarnation of the ever-popular Dance Vid hits the perfect note to end the show on. All the feels, all the Jews, all the dancing....
