Random movie rec

Went out last night for meal, some shopping and a movie with friends. We decided on What We Did on Our Holiday, a family comedy with Dave Tennant and Rosemary Pike. We had a hoot. They did something quite magical with the kids - they filmed most of the set pieces as improv - telling the kids what was happening and what the scene should be about, but not scripted (other than certain 'punch lines'). Maybe it's not 'big cinema', but it's charming and heartwarming and had us giggling from start to finish.
