The thing with going to the movies is...
Tuesday, 25 March 2014 08:09 pm...... once you start going you keeping seeing more and more trailers for stuff that looks really good, and you keep going back. It's a vicious cycle, is what it is, and the Veronica Mars movie made me fall back down that rabbit hole again.
So, last night I went to see About Last Night, because Michael Ealy's face in a trailer is appearantly all it needs.
If you like romantic movies and are a bit in dispair with where modern romcom's are going (totally far-fetched, ludicrous premise, lots of unnecessary misunderstandings), this is the one for you. Okay, the script David Mamet is from 86' (not that I noticed until half-way through that this was a remake of a film I loved in my youth.... *face-palm*) but it aged really well, a testament of how well Mamet captured the essence of relationship struggles in the Real World. And after 13 episodes of watching Michael Ealy doing the Android it was such a pleasure to acutally see him use his facial muscles again. ;)
So, if you are in the market for some well done romance in film format, get yourself and a girlfriend to the movies, or wait until it's out on DVD and bring a box of chocolates. It'll be woth your while.
