I have a whole load of stuff that I meant to post about, things I wanted to share, things I promised others, opinions, odd ends, random thoughts. I was waiting til I had a bit more time - but I've just come to realize - there will never be 'more time'. And there's no time like the present to get stuff done. Time or not...

April this year my parents came over to visit and we rented a cottage in the Lake District for a walking holiday. This year spring was late and we therefore got the full daffodil extravaganca.

Our base was in Glenriddig on Ullswater Lake, on the shores of which Wordsword found the 'host of daffodils'.

The weather was typically English, sunshine sprinkled with rain and wind. On the hills the rain came down as snow (thouth it didn't last long), which looked pretty.

The English Primrose is much less dramatic, but no less beautiful.

They totally are - all along the roads, lake shores and edges of woods. A synphony in yellow. Having said that, otherwise the coulours were rather somber on account of the cold winter and everything being late, so it definately could use some splashes of colour...

I can only see the first picture, for some reason. But the cottage looks like it's in a gorgeous spot!

Man - first day of the Daily Post project and already tech issues?! - that does not bode well. But you're not missing much - you could watch the Beatrix Potter movie instead ;). But the cottage was lovely indeed, and we curled up in front of the open fire when it was raining outside.
